Buffalo Creates Minuscule 16GB Flash Drive

June 27, 2009

Buffalo has unveiled a 16GB USB Flash Drive that could be be nicknamed a “Thumbnail” Drive, given its 18×18x8 mm dimensions and weight of a mere 3 grams. While one would think that a device so small would be much easier to loose, the device can easily be left in a laptop’s USB port during travel, as it conforms neatly to the side the unit, and is unlikely to break off.

The Buffalo RUF2-PS drive comes in size variations from 2GB-16GB and is expected to surface in the next few weeks, though no pricing has been released. With 16GB flash drives hovering in the $50 range, it will be interesting to see the premium that this “tiny conveneicne costs.
